{m}aganda magazine warmly introduces our 35th issue, {re}connecting…, a space for healing and tracing back to anyone or anything.

{re}connecting… acknowledges questions, uncertainties, and processes that speaks to our individual and collective becommings as we discover and rediscover our selves, relationships, and ideations from the past years. Our 35th issue intends to highlight the brackets, {re}, to encourage negotiation of how we are connecting or reconnecting to our realities now. The ellipsis,…, validates your healing as a constant process of becoming and being: only you can define your version and timeline of healing. Ultimately, we question what is worthy of connecting, reconnecting, or unconnecting. Our lives have always been intertwined, and we encourage everyone from all backgrounds to join us in interrogating our relationships with each other and our surroundings as we progress and heal collectively during these times.

love,
lit team and {m}35

{m}aganda magazine is a student-run literary publication based at the University of California, Berkeley. Founded in 1989, it has evolved from its beginnings as a bi-annual magazine, and is now a diverse anthology of submitted work that is published once a year. We serve as a vital forum for the presentation of diverse experiences and opinions through all platforms for creativity–including art, prose, poetry, film, music, journalism, music, dance and more! This digital space is an extension of our print legacy and an effort to provide a platform for new and innovative digital forms of art that cannot be fully captured in our printed publication.

{m}aganda magazine aims to foster critical dialogue within and across our communities through arts, literature, and education. We believe in the necessity of art as a means of influencing social change. We accomplish this by providing integral spaces and opportunities for all of us to develop ourselves as creatively conscious individuals in our communities. {m}aganda magazine provides a means for creative cultivation, community consciousness, and growing artists through spaces including, but not limited to: the annually published magazine, open mics, art galleries, and workshops.
